A Little Moderation

Throughout countless years of "Award Season" we have been shown many different styles and takes on classics. A safe haven for many was the all black everything move, which is never a bad thing, but I do have one issue and that is wearing a black tie with your black shirt and suit. Only a select few have pulled it off.
Black is supposed to be sexy, not laced up head to toe as an attempt to look dangerous. I prefer not wearing a tie when it comes to that looks and buttoning the shirt down a little lower.

Tom Strikes Again

There have been multiple celebrities tonight that have stated they are wearing Tom Ford, unfortunately including Wiz Khalifa. But, none are giving Tom Ford the respect he deserves as well as Justin Timberlake. From his wedding tuxedo to now, It looks as though you can add him to the list of people that just get it when it comes to wearing the clothing of an icon.

What He Wore Today

This is my friend John.
He is a very well dressed man and a professional cyclist.
I came across this photo of him on Instagram from earlier this evening and very much enjoyed it.
If you'd like to see more of his life, then follow him.

Test Pictures

These are some test shots of a photoshoot coming up soon. These were very informal in order to try out the style, but I like the way they turned out.
Real shoot to come shortly.

A Fashion Blogger's Best Friend

Just when we thought we couldn't get any more creative with our presentation of fashion, we get smacked right in the face with this Shiba Inu that is taking Tumblr by storm with what can only be described thus far as "J. Crew influenced" styles and devilish good looks.
If you want to see more of this predicted "Lassie Type" fame, but with more sprezz, click here.

More bang for your buck.

In the mid-1980s, when Miami Vice was the popular show to watch and fashions like t-shirts under suits manifested, out in Los Angeles was a Rodeo Drive shop reputedly known as the most expensive for menswear and fragrances. Bijan Pakzad decided to offer a designer line of handguns along with their most recent lines, having pieces like this double-action Colt customized with gold plating and other special accents. The ultimate accessory.

An Evening With Wesley

A few weeks ago my friend Wes and I were talking about the things we most enjoy. His being his photography and mine being fashion. By some universe altering turn of fate (beer) we decide to make a night of combing our interests and do a shoot. Here is the finished product.

Menswear For Women

Menswear is my thing. I wear a suit almost every other day. Even if I don't have to, I will. It's what I'm most comfortable in.
Another thing I enjoy is a woman in a suit. I think it's sexy. It's something you don't see a lot of, but when you do it is done so well. A female suit can accomplish thing that a men's suit cannot, and that's why I think it's so great.
Here are a few examples.

Before The Storm

Yesterday was an awesome day.
The first photoshoot featuring myself and my style was done by a good friend of mine.
It was a strange thing being in front of the camera in such a way. Having your style under the microscope seems to put a lot of it into perspective and make you very aware of how you look and what to improve on.
The next shoot should prove just as interesting. Here is a preview for everyone what I was wearing. The full shoot should be up by tomorrow.

Then there's this.

I don't care who you are.
I don't care what your style is.
I do know one thing for certain and that is that this man has some amazing style.
I would just like to touch on the subject of being overly cautious again if I may. We have preconceived notions on how we are to look or things that are deemed "acceptable". If I may also be blunt for a moment, fuck all that!
Look at this man. This combination is like nothing I have thought of. This is just one photographer that made me go "WOW!" And I hope you did as well.
So very impressed.

The Fine Print

Has fashion taken a turn for the cautious? This is a question I often ask myself. Each of us who have a fashion point of view will take this question with a grain of salt, thinking that perhaps yes, but not in their case. We all want to be fashion forward and push our own limits of color and style.
I will be one to admit that I have been cautious. My lack of color can makes things easy at times. Alas, you like what you like. Each person's style changes over time and so has mine. My re-introduction of color has been steadily increasing with the emergence of more and more pattern prints that have similar color palates that are pastels or hold to very similar color families. Let me give you an example by citing  Paul Stuart line, Phineas Cole.

Bold, but it is all perfectly held together by it's color family. Color should be a part of our wardrobe. In the subtle ways, I have all too often pushed on this blog or the statement pieces from Phineas Cole. It just should. It speaks to your knowledge on how to use it and can easily prompt others to add more color (or less in some cases) to their look.
My favorite thing, no matter if I'm sticking to my ways of ( for the sake of word play we'll call it) "Monocromania" or not is the use of pattern with only one color. Paisleys in all black, dress pants with vintage rug pattern using only red. It's a beautiful utilization of fashion forward + timeless design. An example would be the Jacquard Tuxedo by ASOS.

A suit that will undoubtably be a personal favorite of like after a brief stint at the tailor. It may have a "slim fit", but it should always be your fit.
If color isn't your thing then look to pattern. If pattern isn't your think then look to solid colors. If neither are your thing then I don't know, move to a nudist community.
